Farm Themed First Birthday Session | Woburn Cake smash Photographer

Hi there! I’m Alice. Welcome to my blog. This blog is where I share some of our favorite photo sessions and offer inspiration to help you dream up your own perfect portraits.
Congratulations! You’ve officially survived the first year as parents. It’s time to celebrate with a cake smash session! I have an extensive collection of cake smash themes. For all cake smash sessions, I provide setups, outfits, and all props needed. This blog post features the popular farm theme cake smash!

A Special Farm-Themed Cake Smash with Baby Easton
It was such a joy to welcome Baby Easton to my studio all the way from Rhode Island for his first birthday cake smash! This session was extra meaningful to me—Easton’s mom, Yan, and I go way back to our days as fellow students at Syracuse University. It’s amazing how life brings people full circle; from classmates to moms, and now I have the honor of capturing this special milestone for her growing family.
For Baby Easton’s session, we went with a farm-themed cake smash, one of the most playful and charming themes I offer at Alice Lin Photography. The setup featured classic red barn elements, hay bales, wooden crates, and cute farm animals—perfect for celebrating a little one’s first year with rustic charm and lots of fun.
As with many babies around this age, Easton was a bit shy at first. Solo sessions can feel overwhelming in a new space, even for the most smiley babies at home. That’s why I only book one cake smash per day—to ensure I have all the time and patience needed to help each child warm up at their own pace. I never rush these moments, and it always pays off in natural, joyful expressions once the little ones feel comfortable.

One thing that didn’t surprise me? Easton’s full head of hair! Just like his big sister when she came in for her own first birthday session a few years ago—so many wonderful memories with this beautiful family.
The farm theme we chose for his cake smash session is incredibly cute and suitable for both boys and girls. I also have done a farm girl theme cake smash.
