When Should I Book My Session?
Outdoor sessions are limited because I typically photograph one session per day and I reserve flexibility for weather rescheduling. The fall is the busiest season of the year. I recommend booking at least 2-4 weeks in advance, especially for Septmber and October.
What to Wear for Outdoor Family Photos
I will provide personalized guidance on outfits based on the location you choose — whether it’s a city setting, beach, or park — and share inspiration to help you plan a cohesive look for your session. You’re also welcome to explore my session tips blog posts for more ideas on what to wear.
The goal is to look like your true self — just a little more polished. I generally recommend soft, neutral colors, coordinated (rather than matching) outfits, and comfortable clothing that allows for natural movement and interaction.
Where does the session take place?
You’re welcome to choose a location that feels meaningful to your family, or I can recommend beautiful spots I frequently use.
Popular options include: Scenic parks with open fields and trees, quiet nature areas away from heavy crowds, your own home or backyard (perfect for young kids)
For safety and comfort, I usually recommend locations that are not too crowded and away from busy roads, especially for families with young children.
What if my kids don’t cooperate?
This is one of the most common concerns — and completely normal.
Instead of expecting kids to “sit still” or pose perfectly, I guide families through simple games, movement, and natural interaction. This helps children feel relaxed and allows their true personalities to come through.
Your job is to connect with your child — my job is to capture those moments. That’s where the magic happens.
Outdoor sessions are especially great for little ones, as they have space to move, explore, and simply be themselves.
What if the weather doesn’t cooperate?
Outdoor sessions depend on weather — and I always keep that flexible.
If conditions aren’t ideal (rain, strong wind, etc.), we can reschedule your session at no additional cost.
Can I bring my pets to the session?
Yes — you are absolutely welcome to bring your pets! They are part of the family, and including them often makes your session even more meaningful and fun.
