As my Spring Mini sessions have been completely booked, it's apparent that everyone is eagerly anticipating the onset of spring. Nevertheless, the city of Boston decided to remain chilly and blustery. If your little girl is turning one during this time, I can't think of a more fitting theme for a cake smash photo shoot than Frozen. It perfectly matches the typical weather conditions of Boston.
I recently had the pleasure of capturing little Reese's Frozen-themed cake smash session, and it was one of my favorite setups to date. Reese was a superstar and brought so much character to her session. Her little portrait prior to the cake smash was full of happiness and joy, and she was so excited to dive into her sweet treat.
I feel like no celebration is complete without a cake, and capturing a baby's real reactions during this activity is priceless. Reese didn't hesitate to devour her cake and enjoy every bite, and I had so much fun capturing her in the moment.
After the cake smash, we moved on to the splash portion of the session, which was equally as fun. Reese took some time to get used to the mini tub, but eventually, she had a blast splashing around and making a mess. As a photographer, I love capturing all of a baby's little reactions during the session, even if that means a crying baby image or two. After all, no baby is happy all the time, and these little moments are just as precious as the happy ones.
